Three is the charm

So, I am back in the Detroit area this week… This time, instead of catching the sites in the evenings, I’m just trying to satiate the needs of three amazing younglings… The children of my old friends Hallie and James as they work their evenings together at Tipping Point Theater…  The kids are great. Aiden, who just started 4th grade and LOVES it, Vera, who is a VERY vocal 3 and a half, and little Gavin, who at just over a year, is already so cool and incidentally asleep on my lap as I write this… We had a nice first evening of hanging in the back yard, checking out a rock collection, playing with some play-doh, dancing to some reggae, eating some tacos, and figuring out cloth diapers… Good times.

Day 2
I had a wonderful evening of pasta, playing candy mountain, teaching Aidan how to play C and G on guitar, and made some killer curried chickpea, kale, roasted garlic, red chili, and veggie deliciousness… None of the kids wanted any, but the big kids sure did! Met my goal of getting little Gavin in the crib and not holding him for the entire time… Not too bad, I figure, for a single, childless, niece and nephewless, nomad…

Another good day of working through the day

and having fun with the three fireballs at night. Today we hung out in the back yard and played with rocks,

balls, and… A bow and arrow? Maybe…

It was a great time and we even got a visit from dad, who missed hanging with his favorite little people!

It was a great day and an excellent few days of hanging with a wonderful family and one of my oldest buddies…

This walk of mine seems to be filled with wonderful little situations that are simply meant to be.
I love you all!
