The Oak

For Mother’s day, I was sadly unable to hang out with my mom as I have done in the past. I was blessed, though, to be able to hang out with my aunt who has been a mother to three wonderful women, countless world wanderers, and me.

This last picture is my favorite! it has an “Arm” that comes down plants herself back into the ground and then regrows back up!
I look at it like she said after the first hurricane that she made it through, “I should put an arm down for next time”… It’s great….

Reflecting back onto a life surrounded by strong women who have helped guide me on my path, I feel forever honored by the experience and happy to have been given the perspective that they all offered with such grace.

Most of all, I thank you, Mom, for always being my Oak and keeping that one arm firmly planted in case of a hurricane.
