It was a weekend of festivals on the eastern shores of central Florida.
First was an East Indian festival. While it wasn’t huge, it was really nice…. I was completely ready for the food, but was surprised by entertainment, many vendors, a super friendly environment, and an air filled gauntlet course!
Next up was an Italian fest at one of the local churches… I have to say, I was a bit of a let down… It seemed to be more of a carnival with pizza than an Italian festival. I did see that there was going to be a dinner later where I saw some cannoli and crostoli set out in preparation. There was also some old timey dance which was fun.
I even tripped over some bocce balls in the courtyard, so all in all, it wasn’t too bad. Since we had another stop, I didn’t wait for dinner and I had no desire to ride the tilt-a-whirl, so we made our exit.
Next was the Native American fest. This one was cool. In a large park in south of Daytona, this traveling group was great. With different shows featuring “east meets West” comedy, bald eagle displays
And a killer drum circle all around a huge communal drum…
Add a bunch of vendors to the mix with all sorts of crafts and knickknacks to poke through… it was a good time!
With a beach-side drink smack in the middle of the festivities,
It was a good day…
