It is a staple of the city&#8230; A true icon of Grand Rapids. And I do mean icon. People worship it&#8230; for good reason. With a mug club membership over 1700 and still unhappy denied wantabe&#8217;s on December 1st, this place is THE spot. Great beer&#8230; Nothing crazy, just solid additions to a long list of great craft beers that Michigan has to offer. Many standard, session, and high gravity ales&#8230; Red&#8217;s Rye is the standout &#8220;stranded on a desert island&#8221; beer for me here. Great food too&#8230; Mostly sandwiches. So easy on your pocket book and your pallet that it quickly becomes your favorite place to spend a few (or all) mid week evenings. The staff are some of my favorite in the city&#8230; Pleasant, witty, and charming people. Management is engaging and interested in your thoughts. I will certainly miss this place&#8230; So much, in fact, I have re-upped my mug club membership even though I&#8217;m leaving town&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What can one say about Founders?
